The efficiency of the SCR system is based on SCR technology, which relies on chemical reactions occurring in the catalyst. For the process to work effectively, an exhaust gas temperature of at least 250 °C is required, which the engine control helps to achieve through various solutions. In urban conditions, the system accelerates the heating of the catalyst for earlier operation. A separate control unit continuously monitors and ensures the maintenance of chemical processes in the catalyst. Thus, for the driver, operation is unnoticeable, while emission reduction is significant.
When handling Adblue, proper storage and environmental protection are important, as the liquid freezes at -11 °C. It is recommended to store it between -5 °C and +25 °C, in a place protected from sunlight, for a maximum of one year if unopened. In vehicles, the design of the tank and lines allows for the safe heating of frozen material and protection of the system. During operation, the choice of materials for pipes and tanks serves to mitigate the risk of corrosion. The price of the product is also linked to the price of urea raw material and the natural gas market.
